Jason Nious

Jason Nious (he/him/his) is co-founder and director of the performance ensemble Molodi, and served as the inaugural IMOD Artist in Residence, bringing his incredible vision and experience to the debut of ROOTS. As an IMOD Artist In Residence, Jason designed and implemented Roots: Let Us Play, guiding the artist development process, fundraising, co-designing educational programming, developing resource networks, and creating pipelines for artists to showcase their work. Jason attended the University of New Mexico earning a B.A. in Theatre. Jason joined IMOD to share his story and found a platform to present it to a wide audience. Jason, working directly with Hilary Palanza and IMOD leadership with a shared mission to highlight meaningful stories that center artists and to create innovative ways to engage with their work. He is passionate about his role at IMOD because it enables him to create new opportunities for dance artists to develop and share their creations while enhancing their skills to support their careers in the arts.

FAVORITES: Jason’s favorite dance genre is stepping. Jason’s favorite place that he traveled to is Salvador, Brazil.
