Maria Scott

Dr. Maria Scott (she/her/hers) serves as a Consultant for IMOD in the areas of Research, Marketing and Communication. With more than 20 years of experience in journalism, marketing, public reactions and special events, Maria helps nonprofits and startup companies reach their potential. Maria opened Copper Gryphon Consulting in 2010 when she began as a full-time professor, a career she held from 2009-2024. In her professional career, Maria worked as the PR lead for the Super Bowls (2001 and 2007), ESPN X Games, Miami Open, and countless other large-scale events. Maria earned degrees from the University of Florida (B.S. in Public Relations), West Chester University (M.S.A. in Sports Administration) and the United States Sports Academy (Ed.D. is Sports Administration/Communication). Maria’s dedication to helping IMOD reach its next stage connects back to her time as a dancer and performer and allows her to bridge her love of dance with an organization that educates, inspires and celebrates all aspects of dance.

FAVORITES: Maria’s favorite dancers/legends and choreographers are Gene Kelly, Cyd Charisse, Bob Fosse, Gwen Verdon, and Ann Reinking.
